There is no single test for ADD ADHD, just like many other disorders including: anxiety, depression, and certain types of learning disabilities. All of these disorders have similar symptoms, but can be due to several causes or irregularities in brain system function.

Some of the symptoms of ADD/ADHD are as follows:

* Forgetful of daily activities
* Loses things necessary for task and activities
* Trouble holding attention on tasks and activities
* Fidgets with hands and feet, or squirms in seat
* Continues to leave when staying put is expected
* Talks excessively
* Has trouble waiting for his/her turn
* Often interrupts others
* Has trouble organizing tasks and activities
* Constantly on the go
* Does not seem to listen when directly spoken to
* Runs about or climbs in situations where it is not appropriate
* Fails to give close attention to details

These issues often last into adulthood.
