Neurofeedback Can Help With The Effect That Alcohol Has On The Brain

April is National Alcohol Awareness Month!

Getting back to the effects of alcohol on the brain, what happens is that over time it decreases the power of your brain, in other words, it slows you down. After the initial “high” the brain slows down to a slower theta rhythm, which is commonly associated with “brain fog”. It’s that heavy hangover feeling you get the next morning! Indeed, the hangover starts in your head with this slowed brain power, making it difficult to focus, concentrate, and make good decisions. It can also lead to feelings of depression and anxiety…leading to more alcohol cravings.
